Microdermabrasion

What is Microdermabrasion?

It is a non-invasive mild treatment causing minimal damage and designed to improve the overall texture, tone and clarity of the skin. The combination of skin exfoliation and vacuum stimulates the fibroblasts to produce new and healthy cells in the basal layer of the epidermis (top layers of skin).  This leads to cell turnover, improved blood flow and skin rejuvenation. The microdermabrasion will smooth out the skin leaving it fresh and regenerating new skin cells. The process also encourages the production of collagen and helps treat early signs of aging. This pain-free procedure can be combined with other skin rejuvenating treatments such as Resurfacers, Dermaplaning and Micro-needling.

How does it work?

Microdermabrasion is a mechanical method of exfoliating the skin. This is a non-surgical method of skin rejuvenation. It works by using a superior vacuum specially designed handpiece, to exfoliate the top layers of the skin using a crystal tip. As the crystals glide across the skin with the suction in motion, this helps to improve the texture and appearance of the skin. Sucking out and remove clogged pores, blackheads and dead skin.

What is it good for?

The Microdermabrasion machine is used as a treatment for so many skin complaints, dull, uneven skin, breakouts, blotches, acne scaring, larger pores and effective anti-wrinkle, pigmentation and age spots. Removing the dead skin will help to increase cell turn over and this will leave you with new fresh skin leaving a radiant glow. Increasing cell turnover will repair damaged skin in a much faster rate, helping reduce and heal breakouts.

Who can have the treatment?

Clients with cystic acne should avoid microdermabrasion but it is suitable for all other skin types and concerns. All microdermabrasion treatments can be performed on the day of consultation.
