Fibroblast Skin Tightening

Fibroblast is a non-surgical treatment with no pain or minimal discomfort reported by patients. Local anesthetic cream is applied for 30 minutes prior to treatment to minimise any discomfort and the procedure is then virtually painless. The treatment may feel hot in places and there may be a tingling or burning sensation afterwards.

Plasma technology has been used worldwide for several years. There have been occasional reports of post-treatment hyper or hypo pigmentation (darkening or lightening of skin) but no other permanent adverse events have been reported. However, with any procedure involving trauma to the skin, there is always the possibility of scars.

Fibroblast plasma can be used for many different skin conditions. Eyelid tightening, body lifting, acne treatment, thread vein, scar correction and stretch marks. If you suffer from any of the above conditions but have hesitated with traditional surgical procedures, then non-invasive Fibroblast plasma treatment may be the right solution for you.

After the procedure, your eyelids and under-eye, will look and feel a lot smoother and excess skin will be clearly reduced; leaving your eyelids feeling lighter.

Immediately after treatment, there may be a burning sensation. This will usually resolve during the remainder of the day although if it is particularly uncomfortable or persists for a longer period, then an anti-inflammatory medication such as ibuprofen can be taken. Swelling is common. This can be significant around the eyes and can last for several days and may lead to interference with vision in the initial period. Anti-inflammatory medication and/or anti-histamine may help alleviate the swelling. Crusting will usually develop over the treated area, this will often initially be brown or black on the surface of the skin and flake off over the following days. It may take over 2 weeks to completely disappear. To maximise the effects of your Plasma Fibroblast treatment we advise to keep the crustations/discoloration intact for 5-7 days and not rub them off immediately. Keep the treated area clean, away from excessive moisture and protected using a broad-spectrum sunscreen. Mineral make-up may be applied from the third day of the treatment onwards. Avoid exposing the area to extremes of heat or cold until it has healed.

Fibroblast plasma is very safe and side-effects are rare but infection, scarring and temporary change of skin pigmentation may occur. Carbon crusts, tiny superficial dots that form directly on the skin are part of the normal healing process and when correctly treated with after-cream will cause no threat and fall off 5-7 days after treatment. Mild swelling is expected during the first 3 days and usually entirely gone by day 5. The majority of our clients do not report any of those after a week.

The skin will have multiple millimeter trauma marks to the skin’s surface, and as healing occurs the skin will appear dry and flaky. In the first few days, the skin feels tender and redness and swelling will be present. Every individual will vary, some may have very little swelling that subsided in 1-2 days, whereas some may swell for a week.  Pigmentation and redness from the small marks can be present for longer if the scabs come away earlier than expected, for example when lying on one side of the face whilst sleeping.

This is a winter treatment. As the skin will still be healing, sun exposure can cause pigmentation on the treated after. This treatment can not be done on tanned skin. It is very important to keep the area treated covered with SPF for up to 3 months after this treatment.
